- The new employee needs to start making a difference as soon as
  possible

- Appoint a mentor that he/she can ask for advice

- Use a checklist with information and education to enable her/him to perform a good job

-  Personal safety equipment

        -  Helmet

        -  Glasses

Welcoming

Make them feel included from day one with personal greetings, team introductions,  and a clear onboarding plan.

-  Present the organisation the new employee will work in

-  Overall Safety instructions

-  Emergency exits

-  Emergency meeting points

-  What are the tasks that the new employee will start performing

-  Appoint a mentor and introduce them to each other.

-  What is the company culture

-  Give a tour of the facilities

-  Introduce some of the collegues by walking around presenting them in
  person

Create an on board plan / training plan

These are just examples. Make a list that is adapted to the needs in your working place.

Save the negative feedback to the improvement situation when you can look upon it as improvement possibilities

Help them acclimate to the company culture and foster
   relationships with colleagues.

Schedule regular feedback sessions to monitor progress and make
    them feel supported.

The new person

To start making a difference, the new person needs to learn quickly:

  • The persons around you, name, function  and their Explicit and Tacit knowledge
