balancing act

Beeing a leader or a coworker is a constant cooperation / balancing act with others

In my experience one of the more important areas to address is the balance between feeling and logic,

in my vocabulary Heart and Mind

Heart and Mind Management

Heart and Mind Management provides Assessment, Coaching, Training, Workshops supporting in management and organisation effectiveness

We updated the homepage on 1 July 2023

I have recorded spoken presentations on the following subjects and launched them, and also updated the homepage

Workshop

Workshop is a net meeting where I present the PPP document in the specific area and then an open discussion takes place where everybody is invited to participate,  presenting their problems, possibilities and experience in the discussed area

Workshops are performed on your request or

 organised by us:

  1. Start with presenting who is participating (everyone)

  2. Presentation of adequate material  (By Anders Dyne, this is recorded and will eventually be presented on the home page)

  3. Questions are answered (Me or whoever can answer)

  4. What is your experience in the area (anyone)

  5. Open discussion (anyone)

In general, most companies have implemented parts of the components of this model
These meetings are intended to share experiences from implementing, what went well, what can be improved

Let us try to create on open atmosphere where we help each other to become better

Reflection: I  have been travelling around the world within the Volvo Truck organisation and then we have introduced parts of the model all over the place
It was introduced in different manners in different organisations with different results, difficulties and benefits.

  • The conclusion that I made is that everybody can learn something from someone else - no one is perfect!

  • And if we could use the best way to work all over the world everyone becomes better

If you have a good example that you want to share with the network, do contact me (anders.dyne@hotmail.com) and we can arrange a meeting where you can share; way of working, implementation, results, difficulties and benefits

How does it  look today?

For now, there is not restriction as to the number of participants in the sessions - and the participation is initially free

How will it look like in the future?

When this is established and working well, I will limit the participants to 20 at each opportunity and I will charge a small amount of money per person

The schedule for the upcoming/planned workshops are found on the homepage, simpel-e-schema

Coaching

The target of a Coching session

  • Is to discuss an item that is requested

  • Give an outside view of the problem

  • Coach the leader to find and make a decision on his/her own

To support you, I offer to Coach you and discuss possible actions relevant for your organisation

My ambition is to discuss possibilities (not problems) focusing on what can be done in a specific situation

We discuss, understand and educate each other in different topics

Company Philosophy model

If you look at different modeles used by different companies they have some principles in common:

The company is looked upon as a unit meaning that the modele mirrors the whole company, that everything needs to work together and focus is put on the things not working

  • A bridge on pillars, where all the pillars need to be there to successfully carry the road

  • A tempele where all pillers are support thr roof

  • A triangele where all the parts work together to support the custenar

The modele I am using

My take on this is that the company is a unit where everything needs to work together

Quality Culture

What you deliver shall be with Quality

if everyone does this there is no-one to blame, it will decrease the conflicts in the company

In an organisation it is important that everybody get their basic needs satisfied and this should be done both by the manager and the coworkers

As a manager you need to:

  • Listen

  • Cooperate

  • Support

  • Be present

  • Respect

  • Communicate

  • See

Generally one has three tasks in an organisation

  • The Actual job

  • Ensure that what you deliver is with quality

(use adequate improvement and quality tools)

  • Improving the actual job by updating processes etc

Quality Culture

Is an environment where team members always care for the quality of their work and when needed take corrective actions to ensure that the agreed quality is always reached

Things to bear in mind when going for a Quality Culture

  1. Establish a system that promotes Quality Culture

  2. Lead by example

  3. Make sure that customers are in focus by everyone

  4. Design quality from the start by e.g. using incremental development

  5. Always use Improvement tools

  6. Monitor what bad quality costs

  7. Try to achieve an organisation where crises are prevented and the prevention is rewarded  (you tend to take risky and costly decisions in crises)

  8. Full ownership of quality by everyone (everyone has a customer even if not all are in direct contact with the end customer)

The quality culture depends on what kind of culure you have in your company

  1. Hunter society

  2. Farmer Society

  3. Industrial society

  4. Information society

  5. Advanced society

Using the Cluster Development presented in Development.

You need to have a company having a Quality Culture on a level 4 or 5

Create and promote a positive climate where everybody is Seen and Listened to - and Positive feedback is used a lot

A happy and positive person does a better job

Save the negative feedback to the improvement situation when you can look upon it as an improvement possibility

  • Bring positive criticism in a group

  • Negative criticism face-to-face

Planned are 4 workshops during August2023

  • No cost for participating

  • No limit in numbers attending the meetings
